Elapsed is a simple multi-timer. It allows unlimited presets that can be sorted/searched for quick reuse, lets you pause, resume and modify timers (even while they run) and alerts you even when its in the background.

If youre not getting alerts on iOS5, remember to enable Alerts, Badges, Sounds and View in Lock Screen for Elapsed in the new Notification Center. Head into iPhone/iPad > Settings > Notifications > Elapsed.

This program was my first choice of all the timers I reviewed, but then after a month, it started to alarm after odd lengths of time (which were not the lengths I had set!). Furthermore, it was alarming on items that I had DELETED, and driving us crazy with incessant alarms. This does seem to be the only free app with seconds, and the only one that doesnt "disappear" into notifications after alarming, the latter of which is essential for me. But I found the interface to be very unintuitive and difficult to get used to (why cant there be a red triangle to "play" a timer? That would work!). I would not recommend this app. UPDATE: I found the absolute perfect app for my timer purposes which is SOOOO much simpler and faster to use. I am SOOO glad this app bombed on me so I could find "Nag." I really disliked Elapsed from the very beginning, but I **wanted** to love it because it seemed to be the best "free" alarm. I found "Nag" and love so many things about it after struggling with Elapsed. (I am using my timer mostly for household stuff like washing machine, dishwasher, etc). Nag is 99 cents, so I just decided to splurge!
